โครงการนำคณะนักธุรกิจชาวออสเตรเลียสาขาธุรกิจการก่อสร้างและการเกษตรเยือนไทย

เมื่อวันที่ 13-17 กุมภาพันธ์ 2560 นายจิระชัย ปั้นกระษิณ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเเคนเบอร์รา และนาย Andrew Park กงสุลกิตติมศักดิ์ ณ นครบริสเบน นำคณะนักธุรกิจชาวออสเตรเลีย จากรัฐควีนส์แลนด์ สาขาธุรกิจการก่อสร้างและการเกษตร นำโดยนาย John Wagner ประธานบริษัท Wagners และ Dr. Ben Lyons จาก Food Leaders Australia ภายใต้องค์กร Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise – TSBE เยือนไทย ภายใต้โครงการส่งเสริมการย้ายฐานการผลิตจากออสเตรเลียไปประเทศไทย ประจำปีงบประมาณ 2560 ของสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงแคนเบอร์รา

คณะฯ ได้เข้าร่วมงานสัมมนาและนิทรรศการ Opportunity Thailand จัดโดยสำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุน (BOI) โดยมีนายกรัฐมนตรีเป็นประธานในพิธีเปิด คณะฯ เข้ารับฟังการบรรยายสรุปเกี่ยวกับรายละเอียดแผนประมูลโครงการคมนาคมในปัจจุบันและอนาคตจากรองปลัดกระทรวงคมนาคม ณ กระทรวงคมนาคม เข้ารับฟังการบรรยายสรุปจากผู้อำนวยการท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิที่บริษัทท่าอากาศยานไทย (AOT) ประชุมหารือกับบริษัทการบินไทย ประชุมหารือกับเจ้าหน้าที่จาก Austrade ที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตออสเตรเลียประจำประเทศไทย รับฟังการบรรยายสรุปเกี่ยวกับโอกาสทางการค้า/การลงทุนจากประธานบริษัท AEC Group (บริษัทออสเตรเลียที่ประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างมากในการดำเนินธุรกิจในไทย) ประชุมหารือโต๊ะกลมกับสมาชิก Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (Austcham) และสมาชิกสภาหอการค้าไทย หารือกับ CEO บริษัท Thai Air Asia X และได้จัดให้มีการจับคู่ทางธุรกิจให้คณะบางส่วนกับบริษัท CP และ BIG C

กิจกรรมทั้งหมดนี้ เป็นไปตามวัตถุประสงค์ของโครงการฯ ซึ่งมุ่งส่งเสริมให้นักธุรกิจชาวออสเตรเลียได้รับทราบข้อมูลที่เป็นประโยชน์โดยตรงเกี่ยวกับโอกาสทางด้านการค้าและการลงทุนในไทย ส่งผลให้คณะตระหนักถึงสิทธิประโยชน์ทางด้านการค้าและการลงทุนในไทยจากการร่วมโครงการดังกล่าว คณะฯ เกิดความสนใจที่จะเพิ่มระดับความสัมพันธ์ทางการค้าอย่างจริงจัง รวมถึงการลงทุนในไทย โดยคณะฯ มองว่าตลาดภายในของไทยเป็นตลาดที่มีขนาดใหญ่ มีผู้บริโภคที่มีกำลังซื้อเป็นจำนวนมากและมีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้น มีจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวเป็นจำนวนมาก และให้ความสำคัญกับไทยในฐานะเป็นประเทศศูนย์กลางในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ซึ่งการลงทุนในไทยจะช่วยเพิ่มโอกาสให้กับธุรกิจชาวออสเตรเลียในการกระจายสินค้าและการบริการไปยังประเทศใกล้เคียงในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้



The visit of Australian business delegation from the construction and agribusiness sectors to Thailand


During 13-17 February 2017 Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia, and Mr. Andrew Park, Honorary Consul of Thailand for Queensland, led a group of Australian (Queensland) business delegation (construction/agribusiness) to explore trade and investment opportunities in Thailand. The business delegation was led by John Wagner, Chairman of the Wagners Group and Dr. Ben Lyons from Food Leaders Australia (Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise – TSBE).

During the trip, the delegation attended the ‘Opportunity Thailand’ Seminar organised by Thailand Board of Investment, an event that was presided over by the Prime Minister of Thailand, informing and assuring the attendees of the advantages and the attractive incentives Thailand has to offer for potential foreign investors. Other key meetings include, a briefing by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry on future transport and infrastructure projects at the Ministry of Transport. Briefings by Airports of Thailand Public Company (AOT) as well as Thai Airways International were very useful. A roundtable discussion with Austrade officials at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok ignited useful discussions about the opportunities and challenges, as well as the directions Australian trade and investment in Thailand should focus on. This was further complimented by very useful discussions with Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (Austcham), the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the AEC Group (successful Australian business/entrepreneur in Thailand). There were a number of one on one business matchings for the delegation with various companies including the CP Group and BIG C Hypermarket as well.

The trip fulfilled its objective – showcasing Thailand as an attractive and dynamic partner for Australian companies looking to trade and invest in Thailand. The delegation could receive information and see the market opportunities on the first hand basis. Overall, the delegation were impressed with the many advantages they could see ranging from the affluent domestic consumer market, the huge number of tourists that visit Thailand each year and Thailand as a logical transport and manufacturing hub, within easy reach to other markets within the South East Asian Region. All these incentives, among many others, will undoubtedly go a long way in installing confidence for the potential Australian businesses looking to trade and invest in Thailand.
