เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงแคนเบอร์รา เยือนรัฐแทสเมเนียอย่างเป็นทางการ, 27-30 มิ.ย. 59

"วันที่ 27 – 30 มิถุนายน 2559 นายจิระชัย ปั้นกระษิณ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงแคนเบอร์รา และนางกัญญารัตน์ ปั้นกระษิณ ภริยา พร้อมด้วยนายวาทยุทธ วิจารณ์กัยกิจ อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษา และ ม.ล. ภู่ทอง ทองใหญ่ ผู้อำนวยการ สำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าระหว่างประเทศ ณ นครซิดนีย์ เดินทางเยือนรัฐแทสเมเนียอย่างเป็นทางการ ตามคำเชิญของรัฐบาลรัฐแทสเมเนีย โดยมีนายอภิรัตน์ อจลบุญ กงสุลใหญ่กิตติมศักดิ์ ณ นครโฮบาร์ต เข้าร่วมกำหนดการด้วย

ในโอกาสการเยือนรัฐแทสเมเนีย เอกอัครราชทูตจิระชัย ปั้นกระษิณ ได้พบหารือกับผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานของรัฐต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ (1) The Hon Elise Archer MP, Speaker of the House of Assembly (2) The Hon Bryan Green MP, Leader of Opposition (3) Mr Mark Shelton MP, Deputy Speaker ในฐานะผู้แทนมุขมนตรี (4) Alderman Ron Christie, Deputy Lord Mayor of Hobart (5) The Hon Justice Shan Eve Tennent (6) Mr Mark Bowles, Executive Director, Trade and International Relations, Department of State Growth โดยได้หารือข้อราชการ และแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยและรัฐแทสเมเนีย ตลอดจนลู่ทางการเพิ่มความร่วมมือในอนาคตในหลายประเด็น อาทิ การค้าการลงทุน การศึกษา และการท่องเที่ยว นอกจากนี้ ศาสตราจารย์ Kate Warner ผู้ว่าการรัฐแทสเมเนีย ได้เป็นเจ้าภาพเลี้ยงอาหารค่ำอย่างเป็นทางการแก่เอกอัครราชทูตฯ และคณะด้วย

เอกอัครราชทูตฯ และคณะ ยังได้เยี่ยมชมโรงถลุงสังกะสีของบริษัท Nyrstar Hobart ซึ่งเป็นโรงถลุงสังกะสีที่มีกำลังการผลิตมากที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของโลก โดยส่วนใหญ่ส่งออกไปยังประเทศในทวีปเอเชีย และ Menzies Institute for Medical Research ซึ่งเป็นสถาบันวิจัยด้านการแพทย์และสาธารณสุขของ University of Tasmania ที่มีความก้าวหน้าและมีศักยภาพสูงที่จะมีความร่วมมือกับสถาบันวิจัยของไทย

ในโอกาสเดียวกันนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้พบหารือและร่วมรับประทานอาหารกับชุมชนชาวไทยในรัฐแทสเมเนียด้วย"

Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand and spouse, paid an official visit to the State of Tasmania

"During 27 – 30 June 2016, Mr. Chirachai Punkrasin, Ambassador of Thailand and spouse, Mr. Vathayudh Vichankaiyakij, Minister Counsellor, and M.L. Bhutong Thongyai, Director of Thai Trade Centre, Sydney, paid an official visit to the State of Tasmania. The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Abhirat Achalabun, Honorary Consul - General of Thailand in Hobart.

During the official visit, the Ambassador met with (1) The Hon Elise Archer MP, Speaker of the House of Assembly (2) The Hon Bryan Green MP, Leader of Opposition (3) Mr Mark Shelton MP, Deputy Speaker, representing the Premier (4) Alderman Ron Christie, Deputy Lord Mayor of Hobart (5) The Hon Justice Shan Eve Tennent (6) Mr Mark Bowles, Executive Director, Trade and International Relations, Department of State Growth. Topics crucial to the strengthening and enhancing of the relations between Thailand and Tasmania including trade and investment, education, and tourism were extensively discussed during the various meetings. H.E. Professor the Honourable Kate Warner AM, Governor of Tasmania, also hosted a formal dinner for the Ambassador and his delegation.

The Ambassador also visited Nyrstar Hobart smelter (one of the world’s largest zinc smelters in terms of production volume), and Menzies Institute for Medical Research (Australia’s leading health and medical research institute), and hosted a dinner for the Thai community in Tasmania."
